complete games for OMG Zack Greinke...Sunday, the boy was en fuego giving up only one hit... Greinke gets to boast with three shutouts and six complete games now, his 2.32 ERA is best in the American League...last night he walked one and struck out five in the best low-hit game of his career. Can we say 2009 Cy Young? I thought I wanted to talk 'bout Gordon...yeah I don't. If you could see me you'd see me shaking my head.
On the flip, season is almost over. We might end it at .400. Maybe. Can we get a break? At least we had Greinke to bring some brightness to the season. I think there is some saying about rebuilding and this and that and next year.....there are 32 games before I want to hear that shit.
BIG SIGH...now...time to address Todd Haley. And maybe his sanity. I don't even remember what I wrote last about the Chiefs. I am fairly sure it was before any of this preseason debacle stuff....
So first....Chan Gailey, OUT. Todd Haley filling his spot. People are acting shocked and appalled. Cause and effect. He was retained not someone Haley brought in. His playbook was written in blue crayola on a Big Chief tablet people...We have able arms (2 exactly, and I ain't talking about that dickweed Croyle) and people who can catch the ball....in preseason we score 2 offensive TD's in three games....and then our line lets the "big investment" go down.....pretty easy to see why he was let go. But here comes that sanity part I eluded to previously. You, sir are a first year coach, who has already been questioned (at least method wise) by the media...there is a huge weight on you to improve this team, and letting O cord go with no backup saying you will fill the position as well as you know...those head coach duties is maybe a little big in the britches. Shit, what do I know....I soon might be wearing a SuperHaley shirt and eating my words. I hope so.
Worried about Flowers....have not heard extent of his shoulder because the Cassel knee is overshadowing...but I must say I am more than pleased with our defensive play....everyone talking about how worried we were to change up the scheme, but it seems everyone is kinda fitting in and I am damn excited about Jackson. At least our D can score....
And now the part that makes me all woohooo....we have the components, and honestly what I think is a good start. The best part though....our division. After looking at Denver and the Raiders, well I could see us getting a few wins, and maybe just maybe making the playoffs. I know you think it is crazy talk....but I think I am on to something here.
Lupe over and out.

It's that time....
school is starting, fall sports practices...general running around like chickens with heads cut off. Oh yeah...and FOOTBALL!!
First, Royals are gonna get top billing. Gordon is starting to look like my favorite boy again and swinging the bat well. He is getting it back! We split with the Twins this series, and now head to Detroit. Pitchers are pitching decent and getting needed run support. Ready for a few home games, cause always love taking the kiddo to catch one or two as the summer winds down.
Chiefs finish training camp, and I am excited to see Toomer come to KC. Will give Bowe some competition and maybe make the kid step up. Hilarious article on some #27 trash talk HERE. More than anything I am just ready for football.
First fantasy draft on Sunday and I am sooo ready. I am playing in three leagues this year...I wonder if my head will spin and fly off actually trying to keep track of all my players and stats.
And lastly....Vick...to the Eagles. While it was surprising to me, it makes sense. He is a McNabb style guy, and with Kolb's uncertainty I would say better to bring in someone who has played in the league even though I am not a huge Vick fan. He brings a lot of options to the O in Philly...even if he is used elsewhere besides QB. The questions will arise of how has he kept in shape and form and has he slowed-lost agility...but you can bet your buttons I will watch and find out. I think the guy committed heinous crimes...yes. He did his time, and should be given a chance to play just like other players before him that have had problems and served their suspensions. If nothing else, they can use him as a second option...run wildcat and do some change up to keep some of those NFC D coordinators on their toes....I think it will be a cluster fuck, specially the first time any PETA protesters try to take their asses to the Link.

eww.....
someone has been letting the blogging slip...
just wanted to mention I am still alive, and VIVA LA FOOTBALL!!
Royals...(insert head shaking) oh forlorn Royals....at least Zackiepooh was able to get a W to break his ugly little no run support streak....and that is all I got for the Royals.
We finally sign Jackson, and first Chiefs game is right around the corner. I am anxious as hell to see what our new guys put together. Can't be any worse, right?

Random thoughts...
I could discuss the double loss by the Royals, but nahhhh..... although it sucks TWICE as bad when you lose twice in one night.
Random facts I learned today.
Adam Vinatieri and Evel Knievel were cousins.
The chick who plays Sweet D and the guy who plays Mac on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are married in real life.
And rumor mill of the day is saying now that J-simpson and Romo the Homo have parted ways, she met Tim Tebow at the ESPY's and is all up on that now. Interesting.

Sometimes you win....
sometimes you lose, and sometimes it rains....think about it.
Royals rained out yesterday, double header today....Ponson gets a turn first and then Chen. Chen is freaking due, hopefully if nothing else we can go 1-1. Even more fun is figuring out where Skip might place everyone today. More on that HERE. Injuries have not been our friend this season.....
11 and a half games back...I feel a streak coming on. Hope it is the winning kind not the losing.
Phils are hot as fuck right now. I am following this Halliday thing more closely now, as I just have a feeling he is gonna be the newest addition to their arsenal.
And I thought NOTHING good ever came about from reality TV. Leave it to that wacky Irvin.
THIS aired last night, and I hate to admit but I had to DVR it jus to see. I love to hate the man...

The Heartbreak Kids....
I really and truly hoped that we could come back from the All-Star break with a renewed sense of hope. Half the season done, and we have a chance to still be a .500 ball club. Greinke is still shining, and some new acquisitions have made some positive shifts, and now A. Gord back on the field.
Wrong again, toots, wrong again.
Drop our first series after the break, but not only lose, we made it a freaking art form. Leading late in games with leads, our pen just can NOT get it done. We are making errors and no matter how well we are hitting, our late pitching and infield ball handling are killing us. Game recaps HERE.
Meche and the dreaded back spasms again have brought Ponson up. Ponson is one of those guys you never know what your gonna get.
Hall of Fame opened Friday night, and I missed it, but wanted to share THIS tribute video. Great coach, great man....Angels in town for a home stand. I hope we can get it together a lil bit more. Can't wait till Gordon starts swinging the bat well again.
In other news, Vick finally released today....ready to hear some speculation as to who might be interested in him. There are some definite teams who could use him. I think the man has served his time, reinstate the guy.....
Naked Erin Andrews has been all over the net this morning. I think it sucks she got her privacy jenkied, if that is truly what happened. Sporty 14 year old boys across the country probably have starched tube socks and sore wrists today. Had it been Bonnie B, I would have been first in line to download it! :)

Pokin my head in....
Just to throw THIS up. So, we decide to pay the proven bench warmer now, rather than later. I don't understand it, but I guess there could have been some pressure from Cassel's agent for the deal. We have the money now, but we would have had it later, and honestly if Cassel could go out and prove himself for a year, he would have pocketed a bigger deal I am fairly sure. Is a gamble. Pay him now and keep your fingers crossed I guess.
I really hope he can step up and prove all the critics wrong.
Sorry for the lack of posting...All-Star breakdown and Winter Classic updates are owed, I promise.

Welcome Farney!!
R's pick up Ryan Freel and waste NO time putting him into action last night for our clusterfuck loss.
Fast and acrobatic, hopefully he can fill some of the spots we got due to injuries, you know...like half our team. But most notably...Freel is nuts. Hey, we straightened Greinke out, so maybe there is hope. We are like the psyche ward of the MLB. Why..do I say Freel could be a lil off his rocker?
Meet Farney...Freel gained some notoriety in August of 2006 when The Dayton Daily News reported that Freel talks to an imaginary voice in his head named Farney. Said Freel: "He's a little guy who lives in my head who talks to me and I talk to him. That little midget in my head said, 'That was a great catch, Ryan,' I said, 'Hey, Farney, I don't know if that was you who really caught that ball, but that was pretty good if it was.' Everybody thinks I talk to myself, so I tell 'em I'm talking to Farney." Freel later said that Farney's name arose from a conversation with Reds trainer Mark Mann: "He actually made a comment like, 'How are the voices in your head?' We'd play around and finally this year he said, 'What's the guy's name?' I said, 'Let's call him Farney.' So now every body's like, 'Run, Farney, run' or 'Let Farney hit today. You're not hitting very well.'" So...um...Yeeeeeahhhhh..... (makes finger around ear circle coo-coo motion)
Chen pitched ugly last night and even though our bats were there, him giving up some serious bombs makes up come up short. Verlander is always tough on us, and so I think we hit good, just got out hit. Greinke up tonight. I'm ready to see something absolutely dynamic out of him again!

First off, a lil side by side fun....inspired by my cartoon watching ass and the fact I got to see Skip Lou come out of the dugout this weekend...
I have been watching a lot of round ball, I just have not been emoting it to you all. Sorry...yeah, I know I suck.
Royals...well...we seem to be on a roller coaster ride. BUT, OMG ZACK GREINKE...our own lil All-Star treasure. Also with his schedule, he should be the starting pitcher...EXCITING!!

Slacky McSlackerson.....
I know I know...have been slacking. With good reason. Those reasons are too much darts, beer and other obvious distractions.
Excited to see Mauer hit tonight. Loving that a catcher is almost batting .400 but in the same breath, I hope Banny can shut him down.
I'm not recapping, but some of our boys were swingin good last night, and we get the W, and are on a 2 game streak....keep it goin, guys!!
Insert Hockey and NBA draft coverage (blah blah blah).
Is it time for NFL YET, woosa!
